Friday play date
Today Harm and I took the kids to go and visit the Bishops. Despite the 111 degree temperature we made the most of the shade and water and had a great time! Here are some of the highlights:
Erinn- This picture is for you! The girls made your photo holders this week. They saw mine on the wall and asked if that could be their next project. They turned out cute huh?

I LOVE SUMMER TIME!
...and I LOVE BEACH DAYS. I have decided that I have quite the life. We have been to the beach every day this week, enjoying the weather and good company!
Harris girls trying to get Gracey to pose with them.
King of the Hill
Gracey is never sad when it is time to leave because her favorite part of going to the beach is taking a shower afterwards.
OFF TO GRAMMY'S WE GO!
While Rob was in Indo I decided to take a road trip to my parents home. We picked up Harmony and Skye and made our way to Santa Maria. I am not sure how Harmony did not get sick considering she spent the whole time turning to the back seat to give Gracey food and keeping everyone happy. Gracey watched Nemo most of the trip...I love you DVD player.
Gracey loved playing in the backyard with Sadie and looking at the horses.
Cam was sweet and came by on Sunday to say "Hi" and play with Gracey
We went to a great sushi place one night. Gracey loved the eel and the tuna. This girl eats everything. I think she blew Uncle Eric away by just the mere quantity of food that she ingested. For being a tiny thing, she can sure throw it down. That's my girl! When we got home that night from sushi, Gracey discovered the baby stroller in the play room.

Sweet bangs huh?
You can't go to Pismo and not go to Splash. The funny thing is when I lived there I might have gone there twice. Some how now when we go to visit it is on everyone's request list. It is known for the clam chowder and will have a line out the door any time of day!
We couldn't pass through Pismo without a visit to "our" Abby. She is J's girlfriend, but I have known Abby since she was a little girl. When Rob and I were first married we went to church with them and would babysit and house sit for them...so we go way back. Love you Abby, Goodluck at BYU.
There is a great barn in Avila that we needed to take Gracey to. They have lots of animals and amazing fruits and veggies and homemade pie. Harm and I bought a bunch of peaches and dehydrated them when we got back to the house. Unfortunately, we enjoyed them so much none of them made it it home.
We had such a great trip. Thanks mom and dad for spoiling us and Harm for being my traveling buddy!

On Wed. the Kuhn girls came over for some Fathers Day fun for their achievement day activity. They made adorable cards for Mo and also an awesome shirt and tie cake! There is never a dull moment with my girls!
Here is my latest... Julie Heathman had her baby shower on Sat. Their daughter who is due in a few weeks is still nameless so I decided for now we can call her cupcake. While I was at the shower on Sat. Gracey and Rob had a special day together. They played at the park and I can imagine that most of their time revolved around treats....because that is what dads do when mom is gone. Rob loved their afternoon together!
Gracey and Rob share a bubblegum sucker. As far as I know this is her first one :)
"Gracey, what color is your tongue?"
This girl took full advantage while I was gone. Rob says she just went and picked this up all on her own. Yikes.
Fathers Day
We came home from church to gooey pull apart bread. If you haven't tried this recipe it is an impressive one and so easy! We made it many times for the seminary kids and it is always a big hit. It is Melinda Smith's famous recipe.
Overnight Pull Apart Sticky Buns
1 cube butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 package of butterscotch pudding
18-20 frozen non risen rolls
1 cup chopped pecan
Spray bunt pan with pam. Place first layer of rolls and sprinkle butterscotch pudding, layer rest of rolls and sprinkle rest of pudding mix evenly.Sprinkle pecans.
In sauce pan, mix butter, brown sugar and cinnamon. Cook until bubbly. Pour bubbly mixture evenly over rolls.Spray a piece of foil and place loosely over the pan. Let rise overnight or 8-10 hours. (Tiffany discovered that you can place it in the oven after you have heated and turned off and it makes the rolls rise faster. They can be done in a few hours.)
Bake at 325 for 25 minutes. Enjoy this one!
Rob was so excited when he discovered that I had gotten him a gift for Fathers Day that he begged to open it Sat. night, therefore only leaving sweet treats as his Sunday surprise. Rob's dinner request was his favorite...eggs. I think I got off pretty easy!
We love you! Happy Fathers Day Rob.
From, your girls

He calls his kids every week to check in.
My Dad is a wonderful example to those around him of what it is to be of service to your fellow man. He gives great advice, without saying a word. His life is and has been a constant reminder of how to do things the right way. He loves my Mom.
Love you Dad!

Memorial Day Half Marathon
My sister in law Erinn had told me about the Laguna Hills 1/2 Marathon back in November and I had been toying with the idea of running it. The course was through a state park with rolling hills and was suppose to be beautiful. I haven't ran a race since college and lately with the thought of child #2 just around the corner I wanted to take the opportunity to get it out of my system. Leanne, my running buddy said she was on board but neither of us actually committed until 2 weeks before. Who needs training right? I figure my runs usually consist of pushing a 20 lb. child up and down hills...running without a jogger and a child yelling for food for 13 miles...no problem.
Just getting out of the house for a day though is a marathon in itself. I had to have a babysitter spend the night at our house since we were leaving at 5am, a 4 am feeding to make sure Gracey would sleep until 8 or 9 (courtesy to the babysitter) breakfast and lunch prepared in Tupperware for Gracey blah. blah.blah...
Our day began with rain showers and gloomy skies. We kept looking at each other
" What are we doing?"
It was cold and rainy so we stretched in the car.
We did it! Yeah!!!!
Thanks Leanne for being my running buddy.

Where do I start?? It has been a busy month and I typically try not to get this far behind in my blogging world but, we have been out of town the last few weeks and time has slipped by! The month of May finished with a bitter-sweet end of the year seminary breakfast. Rob had asked if Gracey and I would join him for his last day. The mom's came in and prepared a breakfast burrito bar and the kids did not disappoint us with their eating capabilities. WOW, I had never seen such BIG burritos! Rob had some very sweet words for the kids and told them this has been the best year of his life...and as the kids say "bro May made it rain." I know he will miss the mornings he spent getting to know each one of these kids, but is definitely excited to get some well deserved sleep and more family time!

The Seniors
That Friday evening we helped celebrate Taylor's 25th Birthday with a great surprise party that his wife Ally put together. I volunteered to make the birthday boy's cake which consisted of 2 boxes of Funfetti cake mix. (his personal favorite)
It could quite possibly be the easiest request in birthday cake history! Happy Birthday T, I wish I was turning 25!
On Sunday, Rob left with his buddies for a surf trip to Indonesia for 2 weeks and Gracey and I began our road trip adventure. We are waiting on all the pics so I will have to update later. Bye for now!
